Great food! We had the duck plate, it was at top notch! The fire pit and all the outdoor dining areas are so beautiful! Thank you Spago!

Haven't been to Spago since their facelift and I'm so happy some things never change. Spago is still the overall number one restaurant in all of Los Angeles. First, the ambiance: The new look is updated but not overdone and the feeling in the dining room and the garden is still very much warm, cozy and elegant. The Food: Pure perfection from start to finish!! We opted to go with the tasting menu ($240 per person) along with some choice wines throughout the meal (a full wine pairing is also available). Every single item in the tasting menu ranged from very good to amazing. The fact that this kitchen crew can execute a regular a-la-carte menu, along with a separate tasting menu to such perfection of timing and most importantly look and flavor is quite impressive. Favorites were the Gazpacho, Halibut, and Veal but everything else was absolutely delicious!! The tasting menu is extensive and for most people would be enough but not for us!! So added the ridiculously amazing bread box, a side of what can only be described as the best mashed potatoes you will ever have, and a chocolate soufflé....why you ask...jest because The service: Our server Gerhardt and the Sommelier Devin were superstars, as well as the team around them. Service pace was perfect and the wines recommended by Devin were excellent (Gruner Veltliner, Rioja, Riesling). GREAT JOB!!!

Went for my bday dinner with my boyfriend. We sat on the patio, which was cute. Very well trained staff, with a sommelier to keep your wine glass timely filled. I've been wanting to go for awhile, but honestly wasn't super impressed. The crispy ginger cone hand roll spicy tuna was good, the cone was this crispy candied ginger goodness. The spicy tuna was delicious. The truffle pasta was good. But it was a little too creamy and lacking depth in flavor. The sea bass left me wanting more. It was good but nothing special. I think I liked the sides more. The steak and truffle fries were good too. But again, nothing amazing. Got the chocolate cake thingy. It had different flavors and it was good. But nothing amazing. I expected more. TLDR. It was good, cute, bouii. But really for those who just want to be seen as fancy in Beverly Hills. But for the price you can do better for food and ambiance imho

Spago is pure excellence. Food, service, legacy. It's worth coming for a special occasion - I came for my 41st birthday, and they surprised me with a complimentary and festive dessert. Drinks and dinner were top-notch Los Angeles fare. My only nits to pick are probably impossible to solve - I wanted a Spago matchbook, but they only offer books of toothpicks, and since it was both the tail-end of covid and summer, we were seated in a tent-like structure outside, rather than inside the actual restaurant. I used to be acquainted with a gentleman who had a wall plaque from the restaurant commemorating his 1000th visit to Spago. I will never achieve that, but even my one visit was a memory of a lifetime.
